Making this bag was a lot of fun and this may be just me but I don’t think it’s possible to have too many zipper bags. :)

The instructions are extremely clear and in full color which is so nice. I designed this bag while working on a quilt pattern using a similar design. I set that quilt aside (but it’s coming eventually!) and decided to focus on just the bag.

I paired an orange fabric with the blue jeans. It works extremely well with denim because orange and blue are complimentary colors on the color wheel. What exactly does this mean?

Color Wheel Comp
Complementary colors sit directly opposite each other on the color wheel. In this case, orange and blue are on opposite sides of the wheel from each other. When placed next to each other they create the strongest possible contrast for the two colors.

Notice how this combination of blue and orange really POPS! That’s complementary colors at work!

I had so much fun making this bag. I’ve made several at this point. For those who may be interested the orange fabric is “Miniflores Sunbathed” by Art Gallery Fabrics. LOVE the little arrows. Fresh and clean.

If you’d like to make your own version of this bag, pick up a copy of Quiltmaker, May/June 2016.
